Under the Keycloak-based authentication system, each token has a maximum lifetime of one year. After that, regenerate it to keep access to features.
DataGalaxy sends email and in-app alerts as a token approaches expiration, so you can regenerate it in time and avoid a service interruption.
When do you get email alerts?
The system sends emails to warn you that your tokens are approaching expiration:
- Personal access tokens (PATs): emails are sent directly to each affected user.
- Integration tokens: emails are sent to the client-space administrators.
For both token types, three emails are sent if the token has not been regenerated:
- 2 weeks before the expiration date
- 1 week before the expiration date
- 1 day before the expiration date
Each email includes a button that takes you directly to the token regeneration screen.
When do you get in-app alerts?
The system sends notifications to warn you that your tokens are approaching expiration:
- Personal access tokens (PATs): notifications are sent directly to each affected user.
- Integration tokens: notifications are sent to the client-space administrators.
These notifications appear in the notification center.
For both token types, four notifications are sent if the token has not been regenerated:
- 2 weeks before the expiration date
- 1 week before the expiration date
- 1 day before the expiration date
- After expiration
Each notification includes a button that takes you directly to the token regeneration screen.
