Quick filters are the one-click filters users see when they search. As a client space administrator you decide which ones appear, in what order, and what each one filters on.
To learn how users work with quick filters, see Use the quick filters.
Who can manage the quick filters?
Only client space administrators have access to these settings.
How to open the search settings
- Open the menu from your profile at the top right of the screen.
- Click on Administration.
- Go to the Search tab.

The Default settings tab has one section per license type (for example Readers Quick filters and Stewards Quick filters), each with its own list of quick filters.
How to manage the quick filters
Add a quick filter
For each section, you can add as many quick filters as you want. Note that only the first 12 quick filters that return results, based on the input and the filters already applied, are displayed in the quick filters section. For each filter you add, you can only select one value.
- Click on the Add button at the bottom right of the quick filters section.
- Select the attribute of your choice from the drop-down list.
- Select a value for this attribute, or leave it open so that the user chooses (depending on the filter) when they apply the quick filter.
Move a quick filter
You can choose the order in which the quick filters are displayed in the section.
- Click on a quick filter.
- Drag it to the desired position while holding the click.
- Drop the filter by releasing the click.
Remove a quick filter
If you no longer want to display a quick filter, you can remove it from a section. This does not remove the attribute, only the filter. Note that it is not possible to remove all the quick filters from a section: quick filters are very useful to help users start their searches, so we encourage you to set up as many relevant filters as possible for your colleagues. If only one quick filter is left in the section, the delete cross is inactive and you cannot remove this last filter.
- Hover over the quick filter you want to remove.
- Click on the small cross that appears on the right side of the filter.
Return to the default configuration
For each section, DataGalaxy proposes a list of default quick filters. To go back to this default configuration, click on the Default configuration button available under the quick filters section.
