Manage the dashboards

How to create, share, and edit dashboards and their widgets — adding, editing, cloning, deleting, resizing, and saving.

A DataGalaxy dashboard is a set of customizable widgets that report statistics on the spaces and versions you choose. You can create as many dashboards as you want.

This concept is recent and is likely to evolve in the next versions.

Who can access a dashboard?

There are two types of dashboards:

  • Private: only the dashboard's creator can read and modify it
  • Shared: all users can read the dashboard, but only the client space administrators can edit or delete shared dashboards, including those created by other users

What types of widgets are available?

See Dashboard widgets to understand the meaning of each widget.

How to open the dashboard

Click Dashboard at the top of the side navigation bar.

How to create and edit dashboard properties

Click the list icon (Dashboards created) to the left of the dashboard name to open the dashboard list panel.

Dashboards are sorted into two tabs according to their type: Shared and Private.

Hover over the line of a dashboard you created to show its actions:

  • Default dashboard: clicking the dashboard icon in the side navigation bar then redirects you to this dashboard automatically
  • Edit: opens a modal where you update the dashboard's name, description and type
  • Delete: asks you for confirmation, then removes the dashboard
Deleting a dashboard is irreversible.

Click + at the top right of the dashboard list panel to create a new dashboard.

How to edit the dashboard widgets

Click the pencil (Edit the dashboard) to activate edit mode.

In edit mode, the Widgets library panel opens on the right of the screen. A new dashboard created with + opens directly in edit mode; when you save it for the first time, you give it a label and an optional description.

How to add a widget

  1. Click the round icon at the top right of the dashboard to open the widgets library, if it is closed.
  1. Choose the type of widget you want to create. A new section appears in your dashboard and the configuration panel opens automatically.
  1. Fill in all the fields, then click Create. The widget appears in its section.

How to edit a widget

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the section.
  1. Click Configure. The configuration panel opens.
  1. Fill in all the fields, then click Save.

How to clone a widget

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the section.
  1. Click Clone. A copy of the widget appears in the dashboard.

How to delete a widget

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the section.
  1. Click Delete. The widget is removed from the dashboard.

How to enlarge or move a widget

  • To enlarge a widget, place your cursor on its ends and stretch with the arrow.
  • To move a widget, place your cursor in the center of its section, then drag the widget to the position you want while holding the click.

How to save a dashboard

Once you have made all your changes, click Save at the top of the screen.

How to undo changes

To cancel the current changes and return to the previous version, click Cancel modifications, next to Save (see the screenshot above).

To return to the DataGalaxy default configuration:

  1. Exit edit mode.
  1. Click the three dots.
  1. Click Revert to default dashboard. The dashboard returns to its default configuration.
