Customization of Client Space Screens

Customize the default screens that every workspace inherits, and see which categories can be renamed, hidden or removed.

Client space screens define the default layout that every workspace inherits. The process is similar to customizing the workspace screens (see Customize the Workspace Screens), but the inheritance rules are not the same at the two levels.

Customizing the screens at the client space level has an impact on all DataGalaxy workspaces, except those where the screen has been edited within the workspace's own settings. This is the default version of the application.

How to customize the client space screens

You must be a client space administrator, and therefore hold a Data Steward license. To verify this, the Admin Access box in your profile must be checked.
  1. Access the Administration space by clicking on the drop-down menu at the top right, under your profile picture.
  1. Click on the Screens tab.
  1. Choose the module and the object you want to customize.
  1. Add or remove categories. A few categories are restricted:
    • The General and Manager categories cannot be renamed.
    • The Synonyms category, present on some glossary objects, cannot be removed or renamed.
    • The Header category cannot be removed, renamed or hidden. It also has some limitations: Text, Rich Text, Value List and Hierarchical List attributes cannot be positioned in the header, and the number of attributes in the header is limited to 5 for readability reasons.
  1. Drag the fields of your choice into the categories. All available fields are listed on the right.
